In June 2008, the Internal Revenue Service granted us authority to provide our generous donors and members with fiscal receipts for tax deductions.
Private individuals can deduct 66% of their payments, which may total up to 20% of their income tax.
Since 01/01/2003, payments from businesses (subject to a regular taxation rate) that give money to nonprofit organizations are entitled to a 60% tax reduction (65 % for certain payments to nonprofit research organizations), up to a 0.5% of the annual turnover payment ceiling (net of taxes).   Private companies can choose between this tax regime and the one offered to private individuals.  This allows them to choose the most advantageous option, based upon the ceiling applicable at the time.
Tax laws vary by country; donors need to verify requirements and allowable deductions.

Historic pre-clinical trial for axonal and neuronal regeneration of spinal cord PDF Print E-mail
Almost ten years ago, Dr. Stephane Woerly, from Canadian biotech company Organogel perfected his Neurogel and took it to the stage of human clinical trials.   During this time he considered how best to accomplish therapy with Neurogel.  Research indicated that combining Neurogel with EPO and Progesterone could improve function and promote further axonal and neural regeneration of the spinal cord.  Unfortunately, no pre-clinical trial was approved and accomplished at the time.

Since then, all scientific publications and animal clinical trials dealing with the adjunction of EPO and/or progesterone to treat lesions of the Central Nervous System (CNS) indicate significant gain in neuro protection, and more compellingly, the possibility for neuronal regeneration.   Chronic lesions, whether paraplegic or quadriplegic, also require a scaffolding/scaffolds—an extra-cellular growth matrix such as that provided by Neurogel.  This has led to the idea that combining Neurogel, EPO and progesterone can produce the desired matrix that could lead to a cure of symptoms experienced by many paralyzed people.  Since Dr Woerly’s discovery, the past ten years have not been totally for naught because research has progressed and many studies now confirm the benefit of these two hormones on medullar lesions.  Following exchange of communication and collaboration with researchers, a protocol has now been developed for an animal pre-clinical trial that will document the results of combining Neurogel, EPO and progesterone and its ability to achieve exceptional improvement of motor and sensory functions.

Starting in 2007, Association Neurogel en Marche attempted to make up for lost time by taking a greater leadership role.  The Association contacted many of the scientists who have published material concerning the adjunction of EPO and progesterone to lesions of the nervous central system.  The Association introduced them to the properties of Neurogel and suggested the theoretical combination of Neurogel, EPO, and progesterone.   After months of correspondence and work, these researchers have presented the Association with a study on “Regeneration of chronic lesions of the spinal cord: an extra-cellular growth matrix, Neurogel, and neurogenesis of the CNS with two hormones, erythorpoietine (EPO) and progesterone.”  Today, Dr. Patrick Decherchi’s team, Universite de la Mediterranee, Aix-Marseille, is prepared to take this study to the pre-clinical stage.
The study will examine the behavioral and functional returns of a rat after double section of the spinal cord and graft of Neurogel, a matrix of extra-cellular growth using to two hormones key to neurogenesis: erythropoietine (EPO) and progesterone.

The Association and its research team are on the verge of achieving an historic medical breakthrough--a potential cure for the many people suffering from the effects of spinal cord injury—the return of both motor and sensory functions.

ASSOCIATION NEUROGEL EN MARCHE’S ASSOCIATIVE PROJECT

The Association Neurogel en Marche is sponsoring an ambitious project to prove the efficacy of "Neurogel," a synthetic extra-cellular matrix offering potential treatment for both paraplegia and quadriplegia.

The Association has been organized around meeting three major complementing themes: achieving the fundamental Association priority of addressing the needs of paralyzed Association members; building upon a history of definitive experience in the area of research and development of Neurogel; and sponsoring a “Project Neurogel” that will meet the rigorous protocols and result in a cure for symptoms of paraplegia and quadriplegia.
